At the University of Latvia, you can receive an academic bachelor’s or master’s degree in humanities, pedagogy, social sciences, natural and health sciences. The university also offers professional qualifications or bachelor’s or master’s degree. Doctoral studies are also available in a wide range of programmes. In addition, students have an opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills through international exchange programmes. Foreign students can take bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral studies while exchange students are offered a number of courses. Degree students has to apply for studies themselves, while exchange students are enrolled according to inter-university agreements.

The University of Latvia offers study programmes in other European languages besides Latvian – four bachelor’s programmes (English Philology, German Philology, French Philology and Modern Languages and Business Studies) and one second level higher professional education programme "Medicine", and seven master’s programmes (European Studies, Baltic Sea Region Studies, English Philology, French Philology, German Philology, International Business with specialization in Export Management, and Educational Treatment of Diversity). Doctoral studies and continuing education with various language courses are also available. Exchange students can choose among courses at the Faculty of Economics and Management, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Faculty of Education, Psychology and Art, as well as Latvian and Russian Language Courses.
