The Internet can be accessed throughout the city of Riga.
Pay wireless internet is accessible in many public places, for example “Statoil” petrol stations, Riga International Airport, pizzerias and other places – everywhere that a “WiFi” sticker is on display.
In order to connect to WiFi Internet, it is necessary to acquire a login and password through buying a pre-payment card available at all wireless internet locations, or by sending a text message/calling the pay number 177.
More detailed information on connecting to the Internet and on access locations can be obtained by calling the 1188 information service. Information on WiFi possibilities can be found in Latvian and Russian at lattelecom.lv.
Free Internet is also usually available at the city’s best hotels.
All Riga public libraries also provide Internet access free of charge.
Internet cafes can easily be found throughout Riga – both in the city centre, and in other parts of the city. Laptop computers can also be connected to the Internet in many cafes and restaurants.
