Foreign embassies and consulates

Contact information on foreign embassies in Latvia can be found on the following web-sites:

Tourists can turn to their country’s embassy in cases of emergency, for example if they are left without money or other means of support, lose their passport, or in the event of severe illness or death. Citizens of foreign countries who are in difficulty will be assisted according to the legislation and financial means of their respective country.

All embassies (except the embassies of Belarus, Portugal and the People’s Republic of China) are located in Old Riga or the adjacent Art Noveau district.

In contrast to Riga’s embassies, the city’s foreign consulates are not located only in the city centre, but can be found in various parts of the city, even in the outskirts. Before setting off to visit one of the city’s foreign consulates, a map of the city should be carefully consulted.
