Music and Art Festival “Bildes” in early October

The Music and Art Festival “Bildes”, which is one of the most interesting art festivals in Latvia, will celebrate its 25th anniversary in Riga in early October. The festival will feature both new and well-known musicians, who will also create works of art.
Among the activities presented at the festival will be the works of art created by the musicians. Every year they focus on a specific object – a suitcase, pillow or buttons. The festival combines the enthusiasm of new bands with the experience of outstanding established musicians, resulting in the creation of something new. This year's “Bildes” is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a number of concerts:

2nd October at 5pm: The Big Folk Concert at Spīķeri Concert Hall;

5th October at 7pm: Blues Evening at the musical club "Četri Balti Krekli";

6th October at 7pm: Concert "Liepājans in Riga" or "What doesn't kill you...", featuring musicians from Latvia's third biggest city Liepāja; this city is deemed the musical capital of Latvia;

8th October at 7pm: Concert "For L-O-V-E", presenting Rolands Lappuķe, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Latvia to the Kingdom of Spain, with a programme of French songs, as well as the special programme "I sell the wind with a horse as well..." by Varis Vētra, actor, director and long-term participant of the "Bildes" concerts;

14th October at 7pm: Joint projects by new bands and veterans of the "Bildes" concert at Riga Congress Centre;

15th October at 7pm: Concert by the groups participating in the festival at Riga Congress Centre;

16th October at 1pm: Concert for children, featuring the most popular Latvian children’s groups, at Riga Congress Centre;16th October at 7pm: The anniversary concert 'Born in BILDES...' at Riga Congress Centre.
