Tchaikovky's Eugene Onegin is based on Pushkin's novel in verse; it tells about friendship, love, betrayal and dramatic destiny.
Onegin is a Petersburg dandy, who is somewhat cynical and tired of life. Tatyana is like a blooming flower from a provincial manor house, she lives in her own world of love, depicted in books. When Tatyana meets Onegin, she pins all her secret hopes on him. However, the young man rejects the girl's love. And no one imagines that one day their roles will change.
