Līga Purmale (1948) has painted close-ups of poppy blossoms and red-currant clusters, misty fields, fir trees that look like cathedrals, the city at night and reflections in the window. Līga has painted temperamental and passionate dancers, and athletes in the heat of battle. Each one of us has a Līga Purmale - dreamy, temperamental, vital, secretive, and all together an excellent painter. The exhibition will feature her work of the past two years.

In her exhibition, Aija Zariņa (1954) continues her thoughts which were started with the 2011 exhibition Children of Earth at the Daugava Gallery. In Aija's paintings, Earth is a living being, alive are its oak trees, hills, rivers, winds, and us. As children we are born, grow and die in its love, while at the same time frequently not just hurting one another, but also this Earth. Are we possible of change? Hope dies last...Aija speaks about this as directly as a child would, with her power of color and lines.

The Rose of Turaida, an opera by Zigmars Liepiņš and with the libretto by Kaspars Dimiters, is a musically and theatrically fresh remake of the opera No Rozes un Asinīm (From Rose and Blood).
