This exhibition is a story about the brightest expressions of Art Nouveau in Europe, visualized through painting, graphics, sculpture and the decorative arts. It marks out the beginnings, the roots and the flourishing of this style in Europe, allowing one to sense the originality of Latvian Art Nouveau more clearly, as well as showing the most prominent achievements from Art Nouveau metropolises. The exhibition is a coming together of different national schools with the goal of allowing its viewers to discover similarities, influences and differences on their own.

1st Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art

The inaugural edition of the Riga International Biennial of Contemporary Art (RIBOCA), titled Everything Was Forever, Until It Was No More, runs from 2nd of June until 28th of October 2018. Curated by Katerina Gregos, the biennial takes place at various venues in Riga and Jurmala. Including works by 104 artists (a third of which are from the Baltic countries), the biennial presents a large number of new commissions, 10 outdoor sculptures and ‘site-specific interventions’.

The Riga-born Olga Pjatigorska (soprano) has graduated the Jāzeps Mediņš Academy of Musci and the Musical Conservatory of Rome - Santa Cecilia. She has performed concert programs with organ music at the Rome Opera, Rome Auditorium, St. Paolo Basilica, at the Santa Kiara in Naples, the Algerian National Theater and elsewhere. Since 2007, she has also made regular performances at the Riga Cathedral and St John's Church in Riga, teaming up with various organ players.
