It is commonly said that Johannes Brahms sensed things with his head, but thought about them with his heart. Something similar can be said about Pēteris Plakidis, because the classical and self-disciplined German romanticist is, to a certain extent, a spiritual relative of the Latvian composer, an absolute contrast, but certainly a source of inspiration. To celebrate Plakidis’ 70th birthday, brilliant musicians will gather on stage to perform his beloved Brahms, his own legendary “Dedication to Brahms,” and a series of jewels of vocal chamber music that Plakidis has composed.
