Goethe Institute

The Goethe Institute organises German language courses and various cultural events: conferences, lectures, readings, discussions, film screenings, photo and art exhibitions, theatre performances, workshops and concerts, along with participation of German and Latvian artists and researchers/theoreticians.

The institute provides a wide range of information on cultural, public and political developments in Germany (periodicals, audio-visual materials, among them, daily and weekly newspapers). Here you also have access to electronic and online data bases for information.

The Goethe Institute often holds creative workshops and seminars for German language teachers. Around 1,000 students take German language courses at the institute every year. It also provides special German language examination programme.
