Bonēra Café

There is magical coincidence regarding the café's name. Initially, "Bonēra" was a made-up name, however, it turns out that it relates to the past, the world-acclaimed French fashion designer Coco Chanel, born Gabrielle Bonheur. Therefore this fine clothing boutique/café, located in Friedrich Scheffel's designed Art Nouveau building (1908), is also a tribute to her.

Chanel embodied everything that "Bonēra" stands for - elegance, femininity, refinement. Therefore the slightly overused contemporary "vintage" has been replaced at "Bonēra" with "finely used" for fine and unique apparel that has once again become mod.

"Bonēra's" collection mostly consists of garments and accessories of such popular brands as: Pierre Cardin, Oscar de la Renta and Ralph Lauren. Each item is hand-picked, with its own story.

The café's matching interior was designed by architect Zane Tetere. Its most important motifs are walls with the carefully unveiled patina of the past centuries - their real texture and fragments of bricks. There is also old, tweed-upholstered furniture with Chanel-style black & white squares. The bar and Coco Chanel's photos are black & white as well. "Bonēra's" object of pride is its 150-year-old piano with particularly elegant keys, designed for a feminine musical touch.

The atmosphere in the cafe is genuine and authentic. "Bonēra" offers natural Latvian cranberry, apple, plum and bilberry juices, home-baked pies - with sour cream, cheese and butter. On top of this - excellent coffee and splendid wine. Everything your heart desires, after all, "Bonēra" is derived from the French "bonheur" - happiness, pleasure.
