FICIL is a non-governmental organization that brings together the largest companies from various countries and sectors which have made significant investments in Latvia, as well as nine countries' Chambers of Commerce, trade guilds and schools of economics.

At present FICIL unites 22 enterprises, whose direct investment in Latvia reaches 760 million lats or approximately 40% of all direct foreign investments in the country.

FICIL’s mission is to improve the business environment and grow foreign investments in Latvia through active dialogue with the government. Since 1999 FICIL meets annually with the Latvian government at a High Council meeting, providing expertise and recommendations on Latvia’s economic development.
