Featuring plenty of blonde curls, pink clothing and dazzling smiles, the 2011 Go Blonde parade with hundreds of blondes and their supporters transformed Riga's Daugava riverside into a hub of festivity and fun on May 28.  

The festival's venue on the 11th November Embankment saw various events all day long: performances of children ensembles, presentation of latest production by Latvian designers at the Riga Fashion Show and an opportunity to learn some tips for a good-looking and cheerful mood.  

The long-awaited Go Blonde parade took place in the evening, with at least a thousand participants marching through Riga streets. Mini dresses, splendid evening gowns, sporty skirts and elegant suits - pink was everywhere. Songs, dances, smiles, applause and special choreography, as well as decorated convertibles.

The 2011 Go Blonde Festival rounded off with the contest of Marilyn Monroe impersonators and the Blond Divas concert with the most popular Latvian blonde singers performing on the stage.

The event's motto is: "For charity with humour!" To be blonde is more than just hair colour; it's a positive attitude towards life. The 2011 Go Blonde Festival collected funds for setting up new playgrounds all over Latvia.
