From August 19 to 21, Riga holds loads of events to let you experience the unique atmosphere of the city's 810th anniversary.

Riga will celebrate its anniversary with the grand concert at Mežaparks Park, Riga Dancers' Festival at Ķīpsala, world air sport competitions (EAF RIGA/FAI-2011), various street festivals, as well as traditional and new events on 11th November Embankment and at Wöhrmann Garden Park.

The two-day concert programme "Belfries and Stars" will be an opportunity to experience this unique city, and diverse musical performances. Ķīpsala will hold the Third Riga Dancers' Festival, bringing together several thousand dancers. The evening of August 20 – a large-scale concert "Maestro. Song. Legend" on the Mežaparks Grand Stage in attempt to conjure up the uplifting atmosphere of the Latvian Nationwide Song Festival.

Crafts Fair will be held at Wöhrmann Garden Park on Saturday and Sunday presenting local applied art, various crafts demonstrations and workshops, folk music performances and sing-along, and - last but not least - a good time. The folk festival "In the Heart of Riga" will introduce multicultural musicians from all over Latvia.

Those preferring more active attractions will have a chance to follow World Elite Aerobatic Formula competition (EAF RIGA/FAI-2011) between Dienvidu and Salu Bridges, as well as Riga Port Cup - 24-hour Basketball Tournament and Canal Regatta.

"What creates a city? - people, their work and an artistic atmosphere," says the festival concept "Live Riga". On Saturday and Sunday Rigans will bring to life the names of Riga streets with a mystery play on Teātra (Theater) street, various theatrical performances at Central Market, a freely-accessible film production on Sergeja Eizenšteina street, the traditional event "A Hundred Years Ago On Alberta Street". Also on the programme - a street music day with various genre music in city streets.

Sunday will see a wide range of interesting events on 11th November Embankment: concert performances, local settlements through the centuries, forging of the Riga-810 anniversary key, fireworks and other surprises.
