This year, the following films will be screened at the Positivus Festival's Cinema Tent: Gatis Šmits' latest feature film "Return of Sergeant Lapins", Jānis Streičs' classic "The Limousine in the Colour of Midsummer Night", Elīna Eihmane's short films about Gutenmorgen, and young director Lauma Balode's short film "Sterile Zone". Also, the following documentaries are on the bill: Rūdolfs Rubīns' "How Are You Doing, Rudolf Ming?", Dzintars Dreibergs' "Submission Not Allowed", Sandris Jūra's "Taking Wings", Dainis Kļava's "Mud", Ivars Zviedrs' "Tide". Latvian animated films will be represented by Jānis Cimermanis' "Rescue Team" and a collection of Arnolds Burovs' works.

International films to be screened at the Positivus Festival 2011 include "Oscar" and "Golden Globe" nominated Alejandro Gonzalez film "Biutiful", Sylvain Shomet's animated film "The Illusionist", Ola Simonsson and Johannes Stjarne Nilsson's film "Sound of Noise", which won the Young Critics Award at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival, and a special film selection from the international film forum "Arsenāls". The "Future Shorts" film programme at the Positivus Festival, whose originality, expression and execution attracts much public attention each year, will be organised again at the festival this year.

Fans of the alternative rock band Blur will be happy to see the documentary film about the band "No Distance Left To Run", which follows the band's tour after the 2009 reunion. The film also includes unseen archive footage and interviews with the band members.

"Positivus", the largest annual music and art festival in the Baltic countries, will be held for the fifth time in Salacgriva on July 15 and 16. The festival site will be open from 12 noon Friday, July 15, whereas the tent village will open already at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. Festival tickets can be bought at www.bilesuserviss.lv.
