Riga Cocktail to be presented at Cocktail Festival

Dienas mediji
Some of the tastiest cocktails, most skilful bartenders, best crowds and the new and special Riga Cocktail - all of this and much more at "Cocktail Festival" that will be held in Old Town Riga's Konventhof on August 5 and 6.

The successful launch of the first Cocktail Festival in August 2010 by Latvian Bartenders' Federation turned out to be very popular - the first festival was visited by a large number of locals and guests from abroad. The second Cocktail Festival will be held at Konventhof in August 2011 - this time presenting yet more new beverages, recipes and ideas.

Also during the festival, the winner of a competition that is coming to close at the moment will be presented: the official "Riga Cocktail", a new alcoholic beverage that will be made only from Latvia-produced components and will be featured on the menus of Riga's best bars and restaurants after the festival.

The goal of the Cocktail Festival is to popularise the culture of non-alcoholic and alcoholic cocktails in Latvia, so that people could not just taste one in a bar but also make cocktails at home or at a party, as well as to promote the popularity of quality alcoholic and non-alcoholic products.

The Cocktail Festival is not just an entertainment for festival visitors but also a challenge to Riga's best bartenders, who will have to make tasty cocktails from not just traditional components but also from beverages that are popular only in Latvia.

You are invited to come and see entertaining shows featuring popular Latvian personalities, meet Latvia's best bartenders who have won numerous awards in not just Latvia but also on the international arena, find your most favourite cocktail and learn how to make it! All festival visitors also donate for charity: in solidarity with the IBA (International Bartenders Association) international initiative, 50 santims from each ticket to the Cocktail Festival will be donated to the Japanese Bartender Association!
