Three contest finalists vied for the title of the special Riga cocktail: cocktails prepared by Andris Noreiķis, Ivars Rutkovskis and Māris Gerāns.

Some 1,300 people participated in tasting the cocktails for one-and-a-half months. All three contenders received high marks - nearly equal number of votes each. And yet, the cocktail by Andris Noreiķis radītajam went ahead with 476 votes, becoming the official Riga cocktail.

The name of the Riga cocktail, "Clavis Riga" or the "Key of Riga" in Latin, was selected by the public and the jury without knowing the authors' identity.

Now the special Riga cocktail "Clavis Riga" can be found on the menus of all the best bars and restaurants of Riga.

Riga special cocktail "Clavis Riga"
Ingredients:

• 2 cl of "Rīgas Melnais balzams"
• 1 cl of liqueur "De Kuyper Sour Rhubarb"
• 5.5 cl of apple juice
• 0.5 cl of "Monin" white chocolate syrup
• 0.5 cl of "Monin" pomegranate juice

Making:
All the components are poured into a cooled shaker with ice, mixed, and strained into a cooled cocktail glass, decorated with an orange rind.
