Early pieces of work from the time of jewelers’ workshop of Gustav Fabergé and jewelry created by his son Peter Carl Fabergé (1846-1920) will be exhibited in an exhibition in the Art Museum Riga Bourse.
These works can be considered samples of the highest craftsmanship characterizing artistic and technical virtuosity of this jewelry firm. Unrivalled technique of execution can be viewed in these works of art – influence of art nouveau and Italian renaissance period can be especially felt in the items selected for the exhibition, using distinctive ornamental motifs and the fine manner of execution. It is all united by the elegance characteristic to French jewelry.
History of each piece of work in connection with the collection creates its own story, thus the exhibition is not only visual pleasure, but also provides great amount of information about a specific period of time in the history of Russia and influence of art styles on jewelry.
