The popular musical interpretation of Walter Scott’s historical novel “The Bride of Lammermoor” returns to the Latvian National Opera.
Plot of “Lucia di Lammermoor” is based on the popular novel of Walter Scott “The Bride of Lammermoor” that tells about ruthless hatred between two Scottish families at the end of the 17th century.
In fight for wealth and power dreams of fragile Lucy about love and happiness fall to pieces... The hypnotic scene of insanity of the protagonist is the most excellent piece of opera music, but “Lucia di Lammermoor” – the most famous opera of Gaetano Donizetti.
The title role in the premiere of Gaetano Donizetti’s bel canto opera “Lucia di Lammermoor” will be sung by the brilliant Latvian opera star Marina Rebeka.
