Riga in the eyes of Dutch artist Hendrik Valk

Thanks to the initiative of Veendam Veenkolonial museum (Netherlands), Riga will host three expositions in the House of the Blackheads, Art Museum Riga Bourse, and Mencendorf’s House. The first two of them will present original paintings by Hendrik Valk, but the exhibits in the Mencendorf’s House will offer an unusual insight into Riga in the interwar period by combining the viewpoint of art and family of the great artist. Photographs, documents, and postcards that were sent by the artist and his wife from Riga allow us to learn the capital as seen by them.
