Dzintari open air concert hall hosts this international contest for young pop singers. "New Wave" features not only the world's emerging stars, but also popular Russian and well-known international artists.
"New Wave" is jointly organized by Latvia and Russia and held every year at Dzintari concert hall in Jūrmala.
The contest's co-chairmen are composers Raimonds Pauls and Igor Krutoy, its muse - popular Russian singer Alla Pugacheva. The first "New Wave" took place in 2002, and, so far, two Latvian representatives have won it - the vocal group "Cosmos" and Intars Busulis.
