Georges Bizet's opera in 4 acts with two intermissions. In French with surtitles in Latvian and English. Summer performances.
Starring the Latvian National Opera Company, conducted by Mārtiņš Ozoliņš. Reworked and staged by Andrejs Žagars. Prosper Mérimée's grim novella was fated to become a vivid opera - an all-time favourite. Žagars has transferred the setting to modern day Cuba.
