This year, both Christmas trees are 20 meters high and 40 years old. Even though the one on the city's Town Hall Square is already shining bright with Christmas lights, all Rīga's visitors and residents can still participate in its decoration.
Every day, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., you are invited to take part in the "Let's decorate Rīga's oldest Christmas tree together!" campaign by bringing your ornaments for it. The campaign will last until December 23. This year, its organizers encourage decorating the tree with Christmas baubles. Everyone, who will bring his/her ornaments for the city's oldest Christmas tree, will receive a distinctive card, confirming that he/she helped decorate it.
Meanwhile, the markets on Rīga's Dome, Līvu and Esplanāde squares will be open every day from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. until January 8.
