The exhibits arranged by scenographer Ivars Noviks include drawings and puppets from Latvian animated films, taken from the various stages of making an animated film, from the very beginning to the end.
Each of these stages is illustrated with drawings from an animated film.
The exhibition features images and frames from the animated film "Lote un Mēnessakmens noslēpums" (Lotte and Moonstone Secret), backstage images from the animated films "Kad āboli ripo" (When Apples Roll) and "Norīt krupi" (To Swallow a Toad), coloured images from the films "Kad āboli ripo" and "Bezmiegs" (Insomnia), as well as compositions from director Signes Baumane's film "Sieviete" (Woman).
Visitors to the exhibition "How Animation Is Made" will also have a chance to see a framing sample from "Rija's" new animated film "Zelta zirgs" (Golden Steed).
Besides the drawings and images on display, there will also be puppets that director Nils Skapāns and artist Vitas Valdmane created for the animated films "Sasit spārnus" (Flap Your Wings!) and "Tārpiņš" (Worm), as well as puppets from Skapāns' new animated film "Es gribu redzēt rūķīšus" (I Want To See Dwarfs) that will officially premiere at the beginning of next year.
The youngest visitors will be offered an opportunity to not just watch but also to act - draw and paint their own pictures. School pupil groups as well as adult groups are offered guided tours.
