The concert will feature the first performance in Latvia by Lukas Geniušas, a young Russian piano star and multiple award winner of international piano competitions, who is bringing to Riga a gem of his repertoire, Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No. 1.
Also performing in the concert will be the prominent conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov from the Mariinsky Theatre, Saint Petersburg. Last year the Latvian listeners heard him conducting the new production of Eugene Onegin at the Latvian National Opera.
