Facing the Laima Clock on Kalku Street, a countdown clock has been erected displaying the remaining time until the opening face-off of the KHL All-Star Game 2012.

The KHL All-Star Game will be played at "Arena Riga" on January 21. A day before, two teams of hockey legends, captained by Latvian veteran star Helmuts Balderis and Viacheslav Fetisov, will clash in the Legends Game.

The Western Conference, headed by Latvian ice hockey club Riga "Dinamo" skipper Sandis Ozoliņš, will take on the Eastern Conference, led by the experienced Sergei Fedorov of Magnitogorsk "Metallurg".

Riga "Dinamo" top scorer Miķelis Rēdlihs has been convincingly voted in for the Western Conference's line-up. The KHL All-Star Game will be preceded by various competitions of hockey skills.

This will be the fourth KHL All-Star Game. The first was held at the Red Square in Moscow, the second in Minsk and the third in St. Petersburg.
