The traditional film forum "Arsenāls" is a film marathon with various programmes, hundreds of screenings and a golden button award from the uniform of Augusts Sukuts.
"Arsenāls" aims at introducing its viewers to the latest in the world of art films. The festival organises seminars, lectures and informs about film making in the Baltic States and Latvia. "Arsenāls's" big screen will feature the greatest cinema personalities as well as the latest and most interesting Baltic films.
Every year, "Arsenāls" films highlight an important period in the history of cinema, offering the opportunity to become familiar with a particular world region and its culture.
Last year, the festival presented screenings of Armenian, Kazakh, Ukrainian and Russian films, with the focus on on South Asian cinema.
