By changing the traditional way of playing classical music, musicians want to present the overwhelming spiritual and rich heritage to those people who usually don’t listen to this kind of music and for whom going to classical music concert is not a usual practice.

The history of Art&Valt dates back 10 years ago when Valters Pūce (cello) and Artūrs Cingujevs (piano) met. The similar thinking and understanding of music later formed into a wonderful duet.

After several years spent in studies in foreign countries, they have met again to give concerts to their listeners in Latvia.

“We wanted to escape the traditional perception of classical music and create a free atmosphere in the concert, so that a person who has come to enjoy music feels free and easy.” /Valters Pūce/

Valters is winner of several prestigious international cello competitions, like Concertino Prague, Augusts Dombrovkis International Competition, Music World 2000 Festival Internazionale Fivizzano. As solo player Valters has performed not only in Latvia, but also in Sweden, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Denmark.

A. Cingujevs graduated with distinction from the Moscow State Conservatory in 2010, where he studied at Professor Eliso Virsaladze. Currently, he continues studies in the postgraduate course at Moscow Conservatory and Bern University of the Arts. He has participated in concerts and festivals in the Baltic States, Germany, France, Poland, Sweden, Holland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, and Russia.
