In the programme dedicated to alto saxophone player "Cannonball" Adderley (1928-1975), jazz quintet Silvesteri Orkesteri will perform the compositions Walk Tall, Saudade, Mercy Mercy Mercy, etc.

Jazz legend Cannonball Adderley is considered to be one of the best saxophone players of all times - a bright continuator of the creative contribution by Charlie Parker, creator of the bebop style.

In the 1950s, Adderley became popular as he worked together with the legendary trumpet player Miles Davis. The albums recorded by both of them, Kind of Blue and Milestones, still can be listed among the best-selling jazz recordings. In the 1960s-1970s, Adderley started new quests including elements of funk and pop music in his repertoire. The pieces Walk Tall and Mercy Mercy Mercy are bright examples. Kārlis Vanags says: "Generally Adderley's music implies much of positivism and humour, which is always reflected in public's positive attitude."

Silvesteri Orkesteri have been performing on the Latvian jazz stage already for several years, they participate in festivals and perform in clubs.
