Women choir “Sapnis” (“Dream”) of the Riga State Gymnasium No. 1 will perform at St John’s Church with a concert “Ave Maria”, which is dedicated to the Mother’s day. The programme will include compositions by Western-European and Latvian composers, which will fill the church with spirit of inspiration.

The choir performs Latvian and other folksongs, Latvian and other classical music, sacred music, including composition “Ave Maria” by many world-known composers, as well as works of modern composers. “Sapnis” has a good co-operation with the leading Latvian composers, like Selga Mence, Ilze Arne, Romualds Jermaks, Maija Einfelde, Alvils Altmanis, etc.

The collective was established in 1993 and since then has won several choir competitions in Latvia and internationally. The choir has performed in many ciites and towns in Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, France, the Czech Republic, Austria, and Italy.

Tickets can be purchased at church one hour before the concert.
