In the month of May, the ritual of singing at the cross is a new tradition at the Ethnographic Open-Air Museum but an age-old tradition in Latgale and Augšzeme. According to Catholic traditions of Latgale, a cross is the place of reflection where one looks up, removing any hat in reverence to God. People called divine service in May as "dzīduošana pi krusta" (singing at the cross) and held it at their own initiative. The Holy Mass will be held in the chapel of Eleonorvilla Manor, and Virgin Mary’s songs will be sung at the crucifix of Guti village.
