The summer flower exhibition season at the Latvian Museum of Natural History traditionally kicks-off with the iris. This exhibition is organized in cooperation with the Latvian Gladiolus and Iris Association. Today, the nursing, collecting and breeding of irises has become very popular in Latvia, with about 1,000 different types of bearded irises in the active breeding circle. The exhibition will feature approximately 150 different tall and medium sized iris types and hybrids, which are bred in Latvia and abroad.
