The new piece by Latvian composer Arturs Maskats - a tribute to Latvia's centenary - has been inspired by the poetry and destinies of the three Baltic states. The soloists are brilliant Asmika Grigorjana from Lithuania, gallant Aleksandrs Antoņenko from Latvia and Mari Kalkun from Estonia, whose voice is reminiscent of summertime meadow. The other piece of the program is the popular and inegnious Symphony No. 2 by Jean Sibelius believed to herald national ideas.
