A performance of Karlsons’s Dances of Life and Death, which touches upon the courage and fate of Spanish national hero El Cid. The father and son piano duo will also perform the solo of Poulenc’s exciting Concerto for Two Pianos. Also on the program will be Stravinsky’s Petrushka, like a clown, struck by jealousy, who goes places he shouldn’t and does things he shouldn’t do. An evening of symphonic music with an equally symphonic ambit. All of this under the watchful eye of LNSO conductor Guntis Kuzma.
