Pregnant women can receive assistance and give birth at several specialised clinics in Riga, as well as at the gynaecological departments of polyclinics, health centres and private surgeries in the city.
Latviahas 21 hospitals where deliveries are performed. Three of them are located in Riga - Riga Maternity House (45 Miera Street, phone. 67011225), the Pauls Stradiņš Clinical University Hospital (13 Pilsoņu Street, phone 67069600) and the Family Centre Clinic (10a Kaņiera Street, phone 67132155).
Deliveries are also performed in the neighbouring resort cities – at the Jūrmala Hospital (Bulduri, 19/21 Vienības Avenue, phone 67512957) and at the Riga District Hospital in Sigulda (Sigulda, 13 Lakstīgalas Street, phone 67976933).
In order to get a pregnant woman to the hospital, a call should be made not to the hospital, but the emergency number 112, and a special emergency ambulance team will transport her to the hospital. This phone number is recommended also in the event of any complications during pregnancy.
Consultations are available at private surgeries, and at state and municipal clinics. In case of emergency, the emergency number 112 or the information service 1188 are always available.
