The “Another Travel Guide Riga” is an attempt to break the traditional stereotypes and change the traditional conception of Riga by encouraging people to look at the capital of Latvia from another angle and see its vast diversity – from the city's symbols to suburban jewels and places known only to insiders. This untraditional guide was created with the intention of promoting interest in visiting Riga among those who have not yet considered doing so.
The authors of the “Another Travel Guide Riga” are real Riga insiders, among them artists, architects, businessmen, journalists and photographers who love their city and are ready to reveal its secrets. On the one hand, the book is a manual of the city which provides information on the best hotels, museums, cultural objects, cafes, restaurants, and shops, as well as on the habits of Rigans. On the other hand, this is a stylish book with artistic value displaying another, creative visual thinking which is completely different from the usual travel guides.
The English version of the travel guide was published last autumn and it became very popular among tourists. The second, revised edition was published at the beginning of the year. Now the Russian version of “Another Travel Guide Riga” has been released, and at the end of the month a German version will appear. Some time later, all these editions will be published anew with updated information.
