An inseparable synthesis of two arts – cinema and music. It is hard to imagine the modern world without cinema, and music has always been an integral part of any film.
The concert will be performed by the mixed choir Laudate and its artistic director Jānis Misiņš. Together with the LNSO String Quintet, Valters Līce (percussion), Uģis Krišjānis (piano) and Madara Misiņa (flute), the choir will perform many musical gems – among them deeply poignant compositions by Ennio Morricone from the world cinema classics Once Upon a Time in America and Cinema Paradiso, Michel Legrand's music for The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, Nino Rota's recognisable themes for The Godfather, music by Raimonds Pauls and Imants Kalniņš from the Latvian films Theatre, Long Way in the Dunes, Four White Shirts and many others.
