Exhibition Where to Hide!

The exhibition presents more than 350 works created by Latvian artists under Soviet occupation from the Zuzāns Collection, Latvian National Museum of Art and private collections, as well as materials from the Latvian State Archive of Audiovisual Documents.

The exhibition is structured around two points of reference – the set of themes co-opted by the authorities and the artists' endeavours in the language of free expression. At the same time, it highlights the lack of the Contemporary Art Museum in Riga, as well as the absence of permanent exhibitions showing the period of Soviet occupation.

In addition, from 9 February to 28 April, an exhibition of Rūdolfs Pinnis' (1902-1992) works, titled I Exist in Colours, is on show in the Small Exhibition Hall of the Zuzeum Art Centre. The exhibition presents 30 works from the Zuzāns Collection, which were created over the period from 1936 up to 1990, and provides an insight into different periods of Rūdolfs Pinnis' creative career.

The projects' public programme will include a series of workshops, talks and discussions, which will be announced on the Zuzeum Art Centre's homepage.
