Lielie kapi Cemetery is an architectural landmark of state importance with memorial tombs, a burial ground and park owned by the Latvian Lutheran Church. It is located between Brīvības, Mēness, Miera and Kljānu streets.

The total area covers 22 hectares, which also encompasses St. Jacob's Catholic Cemetery and the Wehrmacht German Soldiers' Cemetery on the corner of Mazā Klijānu Street. Several tens of thousands of Riga residents are buried here, and the tombstones represent artistic monuments dating back the second half of the 18th century.
