At the end of the academic year, the Art Academy of Latvia will open its doors to a wider audience, inviting visitors to explore diverse forms of expression presented across multiple exhibitions.
This year’s graduate exhibition invites visitors to discover the final projects of emerging artists, designers, and audiovisual art practitioners, which examine what it means today to define and to question — oneself, the world, relationships, materials, and the present day. Under this title, both the Graduate Show and Design Days are brought together.
At the centre of the graduate exhibition is the question of the process of definition rather than a fixed answer. In their works, emerging professionals reflect on identity, social norms, memory, the impact of technology, human vulnerability, and the boundaries between personal and collective experience. Each work offers an individual perspective on how meanings emerge and how they continuously change.
The Design Days exhibition, in turn, highlights design as a multifaceted way of thinking — between the analogue and the digital, between the handmade and the algorithm, between an idea and a tangible, functional product. It is at once a beginning, a boundary, and a challenge in a time when design no longer fits within a single form, space, or function.
Exhibition hours:
12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
The exhibition will be closed from June 22 to June 24
