Mirdza Jurča, born Januža, is one of the most important artists in the history of Latvian porcelain. Until the 1970s she created countless paintings and decor design samples for porcelain mass production.
Mirdza Jurča is a witness to the dramatic changes of political eras in the 20th century. Her creative path began in the 1930s during the First Latvian Republic at the M. S. Kuznetsov Porcelain Factory and continued under the conditions of Soviet occupation in the Riga Porcelain and Faience factory.
