American Jazz Night is a concert series launched by the Latvian Radio Big Band, where the audience is invited to look back on the "golden heritage" of the big band genre and the most important jazz figures both in Latvia and worldwide .
Together with special guests, the young generation of Latvian jazz musicians - vibraphonists Miķelis Dzenuška and Ēriks Miezis and pianist Edgars Cīrulis - the Latvian Radio Big Band will pay tribute to the greats of jazz music. The program includes legendary works by Joe Zawinul, Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock as well as new compositions by Miķelis Dzenuška, Ēriks Miezis and Edgars Cīrulis, which were composed specifically for the Latvian Radio Big Band.
