Legendary American singer-songwriter, pianist, and one of the most prominent figures in alternative music, Tori Amos, is embarking on an extensive European tour with her new album, In Times of Dragons. This concert is expected to be one of the most significant musical events of 2026 in Latvia for music lovers.
Tori Amos, a captivating redhead with a powerful mezzo-soprano voice and unique piano style, has been enchanting the world with her emotionally intense songs for more than 35 years. Tori Amos sings captivatingly while playing the grand piano, well aware that pianists who have classical music in their blood but rock 'n' roll in their hearts, their feet are not meant to be hidden somewhere under the piano pedals, because music lives in the whole body, the fiery essence merging with the piano or harpsichord and becoming one with it.
A musician who has received eight Grammy nominations during her career and sold more than 12 million albums worldwide, she has been known since the 1990s as a brilliant songwriter and singer who always accompanies herself on the piano. She has captivated the whole world with countless beautiful songs in which she emotionally explores important themes: awareness of one's place and role in this world, relationships with religion and politics, feminism and sexuality.
Latvian listeners have also been waiting for her performance for decades – since the 1990s, when her albums Little Earthquakes, Under the Pink, Boys for Pele and others were released, which became the soundtrack of many fans' youth. The concert in Riga will be an opportunity to finally experience the artist's performance live, whose music has so far only been available on recordings.
