The Latvian men's national basketball team is fighting for the chance to participate in the World Cup finals for the second time in a row.
After the first two rounds of the qualifying tournament, the Polish team (19th in the FIBA rankings) is at the top of Group F with two wins – 90:78 over Austria and 85:83 away against the Netherlands.
The Latvian national team (12th in the FIBA rankings) lost to the Netherlands (78:86) in their first game in Riga, but defeated Austria 86:68 away.
The winners will significantly improve their chances of qualifying for the final tournament.
