Concert. Vadim Gluzman (violin) and Yevgeny Sinaisky (piano)

Classmates, playing partners, kindred spirits and soulmates – this can be said about two brilliant musicians whose names are forever linked with Riga. Violinist Vadim Gluzman and pianist Yevgeny Sinaisky.

Yevgeny Sinaisky, a representative of a well-known family of musicians who devotes himself to chamber music and teaching, was born in St. Petersburg. He received his basic musical education at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School, graduated from Prof. Marina Volfa's class at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory, and completed his postgraduate studies at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague under Prof. Naum Grubert (who was also born in Riga). Yevgeny Sinaisky is a laureate of international competitions, a regular concertmaster at the Salzburg Mozarteum Summer Academy, and a professor of chamber music at the Vienna Conservatory.

Vadim Gluzman also began studying music at the Emīls Dārziņš Music School. He honed his skills in Israel and then in America, where he also studied with former Riga resident Arkady Fomin. Gluzman performs both as a soloist and in chamber ensembles. His goal is to preserve the finest connections with the violin playing traditions of the 19th and 20th centuries. Vadim Gluzman is a regular guest at world-renowned music festivals and has his own music festival in Chicago. The Kronberg Academy has invited Vadim Gluzman to participate in a grand concert dedicated to Beethoven's 250th anniversary. Vadim Gluzman plays a 1690 Stradivarius violin entrusted to him by the Chicago Stradivari Society.
