Linda Kozule's exhibition "Lūko"

The exhibition "Lūko" offers viewers an opportunity to explore the possibilities of human representation in painting. It features works created in recent years. The core of the exhibition consists of six large-format paintings - portraits of girls. The original idea - to depict people with documentary precision - grew into a broader interest in revealing human emotions.

Linda Kozule was born in Jelgava in 1968. She studied architecture at the Riga Polytechnic Institute and painting at the Latvian Academy of Art, obtaining a master's degree in art in 2005. She completed an internship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Since 2006, she has been a member of the Latvian Artists' Union. She has participated in exhibitions since 1994, has held 18 solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions in Latvia and abroad.

The artist's works are held in museums and private collections in Latvia, Lithuania, France, Switzerland, Germany, Sweden, Great Britain, the USA and elsewhere. An important part of Kozule's creative work is experimenting with the boundaries of canvas and painting, as well as creating three-dimensional installations. In recent years, the artist has turned her attention to the genre of portraiture, exploring the interaction between painting and photography and creating a series of portraits that reveal the emotional nuances of human beings.

The portraits were created in collaboration with photographers Heinz Ryser (Switzerland) and Jānis Bartaševics (Latvia).
The portrait model is Ilze Ungere (Latvia).
