Unknown Mortal Orchestra concert

The authors of the well-known songs "So Good at Being in Trouble", "Hunnybee", and "Multi-love" in Latvia, New Zealand psychedelic rockers and creators of delicate melodies Unknown Mortal Orchestra, are embarking on a new tour. Artistic rhythmic guitars, lo-fi aesthetics and the dreaminess characteristic of the genre can be appreciated at the band's concert in Riga.

The tour announcement follows two albums released this year by Unknown Mortal Orchestra, or UMO, under the American independent music label Jagjaguwar. The latest of these, IC-02 Bogotá, is the freshest addition to UMO's instrumental IC series, which previously released IC-02 Hanoi in 2018. Similar to the first recording, this is a musical document whose title is taken from the place where the compositions were created and is described as "background music for a strange party or future nighttime excursions". In addition, this year also saw the release of the short-form EP Curse, inspired by Italian horror films of the 70s and 80s. It is a concentrated reflection of the cursed era in which we live. The song "Boys With The Characteristics of Wolves" references Black Sabbath with its catchy guitar riffs. Overall, the recording offers an unobtrusive soundtrack for the listener's next confrontation with existential emptiness.
