Latvia - England, 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying match

We have wanted this for many years, and finally we have it - on the evening of October 14, the Latvian national football team will meet the biggest stars from England, the home of football, in Riga. This promises to be one of the biggest, loudest and most impressive games that Latvian sports fans have ever seen at home. This will be the Latvian national team's last home game this year.

The two teams first met in March at Wembley Stadium in London during the World Cup qualifiers, where the hosts won 3-0. Latvia's performance on the pitch and the enthusiastic crowd in the stands gave cause for cautious optimism ahead of the match in the Latvian capital.
In recent years, the English national team has regained its place among the world's football elite, reaching the finals in the two most recent European Championships, as well as the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.
The Latvian national team is playing in the same World Cup qualifying group as England, Albania, Serbia and Andorra. The winner of the group will qualify for the final tournament, which will feature 48 teams for the first time, including 16 from Europe. Four more tickets will be distributed in March 2026 in the play-off stage, which can be reached by finishing second in the group.
