The NYX Trio consists of three experienced chamber musicians – flutist Anete Toča, violinist Tatjana Ostrovska, and pianist Ieva Sarja. In the programme "Winter Dreams", they are joined by the young vocal talent Brigita Reisone. This thoughtful programme, filled with love for humankind, has been created for the special time of Advent and Christmas, a time that brings light and hope, intending to reach listeners in all corners of Latvia and at all stages of life with the power of music. Classical music gems will be intertwined with beloved Christmas songs, distracting listeners from their everyday worries and reminding them of the great and eternal values.
Alongside traditional melodies, the concert will feature pages of the heartwarming music by Italian opera greats Gaetano Donizetti and Giuseppe Verdi, the colourful vocal lyrics of German composer Richard Strauss, and the songs of Austrian romantic Franz Schubert, as well as the thoroughly Latvian compositions of our own composers – the classics Jāzeps Vītols and Arnolds Šturms and their contemporaries Imants Zemzars, Aivars Kalējs, Lolita Ritmanis and Hella Milbreta-Holma.
