Arturs Pērkons exhibition "Time Shift. Photographs. Sounds in Space"

The multimedia exhibition features more than fifty photographs covering the period from 1975 to the beginning of the 21st century. Sound is an essential and emotional component of the message conveyed by "Time Shifts".

The concept of the exhibition is based on a fragmented mosaic of subjective perceptions of time and personal memories, in which there is no linear flow of time. The exhibition offers a view of time as a special dimension in the structure of the world, using multimedia to combine still photographs with slowly flowing soundscapes.

The exhibition features portraits, urban environments, nature scenes, still lifes, and details that are significant to the era. Several portraits of Latvian cultural figures are also on display, taken years ago when the photographer's camera captured them in the unpretentious lightness of an everyday moment, which has now become a sign of a bygone era. The originals are 35 mm slides, which are displayed at a scale of 10:1, or 50 x 50 cm.
