Inaugurated in 2024 by the legendary jazz musician Branford Marsalis, Pink Noise Riga music festival offers a cocktail of world-class jazz, pop-rock, fusion, and contemporary improvised music. Festival’s main idea is to fill Riga with glamour and make Riga shine bright in Europe’s music scene.
Nubya Garcia is one of the world's new generation jazz icons. The London-born saxophonist and composer, who has been nominated for a Mercury Prize and has released the critically acclaimed albums Odyssey and Source, will arrive in Riga with her quartet to offer a unique synthesis of jazz, dub, R&B, and classical music. The saxophonist will be accompanied by outstanding British musicians Lyle Barton (keyboards), Sam Jones (drums) and Max Luthert (double bass).
DJ Toms Grēviņš will warm up the audience with a music programme titled "Jazz on Vinyl," specially curated for this evening, and after the concert the evening continues at M/House of Jazz at the "Pink Noise Jam Session"!
